New Fashion space
On December 15th, Stéphane Bern, President of the Grévin Academy; Béatrice de Reyniès, Grévin’s President; and Béatrice Cristofari, Grévin’s General Manager, unveiled the brand new Fashion Universe, “Grévin Fashion”, in its renovated and embellished heritage decor. The challenge is more than met: displaying a sleek contemporary scenographic design and a totally modern enhanced version of the splendid interior architecture of the Dome and the Hall of Columns.
With elegance as the evening’s central theme, Grévin was honoured by the presence of Ines de La Fressange and Chantal Thomass, two dazzling icons of French and international fashion. They were both enchanted, curious and amused to discover their waxwork images in their own dedicated setting.
The figures of other famous names in the world of fashion were also introduced on this occasion, Cara Delevingne and Coco Rocha, while some already gracing the Grévin, such as Naomi Campbell, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Christian Dior were also on the scene.
Designed to order by Skertzo, specially for the Grévin, brilliantly graphic mapping adds a further dose of magic for visitors to marvel at. One more reason to designate the Grévin as the very acme of Parisian entertainment.
The new black and white themed background created by Dick Walsh and Julien Bertevas includes majestic examples of photographic art and a film byAli Mahdavi, while huge mirrors multiply into infinity the Hall of Columns. This artistic and resolutely modern decor underlines the unique timelessness of Paris fashion.
The Hall of Columns is to be the site for a forthcoming fashion show, attended by famous people from the worlds of the cinema, entertainment and fashion. Here and there, iconic celebrities — the Marquise de Pompadour, Charlie Chaplin, Mozart — will be participating in an offbeat play on illusion, a perfect illustration of Grévin’s art of make believe.
